The Story of The British Chippy Ltd.
From the first shop that opened in Wigan, England in 1915 to the two locations in Calgary and
Okotoks today, we have remained committed to the traditional art of home made Fish & Chips.
We are grateful to be able to follow in our family’s footsteps and we are the third generation of fish fryers.
We still use our Grandmother’s recipes and the hands on technique. All of our food is prepared
fresh to order and we hand peel and chip the potatoes every day. Taking this old fashioned
technique we add a modern day twist with our Organic Potatoes, Wild Caught Fish and Non
GMO Oil. Our lightly battered, wild caught fish is a beautiful 6oz fillet; another tradition.
